Wednesday, May 4 (minimum day) is the Stop Hunger Packaging Event. It was a very successful event last year and we hope to outdo it this year. This is an exciting event where students and staff meet together in the cafeteria to package meals for the global concern of feeding the hungry. The package consists of a flavor and vitamin pack, soy based protein, rice and vegetables. We will do this from 12:30 to about 2pm. It is a lot of fun, it’s a tremendous way to mix with the students and a great way for the staff to have a special time together as well. It was a great bonding last year! Everyone left the event agreeing it was important to do again this year.
We will be talking to the students through PE classes but we would appreciate your help.
Here are some facts:
- Each meal cost $.29.
- One package serves approx. 6
- Approx. 795 million people are chronically malnourished
- 1 in 9 go to bed hungry
Education is the key: 40% of “Stop Hunger Now” is distributed to school feeding programs to help with moving these families out of the path of poverty. You can also help us reach our goal of $4,000 by making a contribution and giving us more packages to fill on May 4.
